Pexpo bottle

Whenever you hear or read the term “water bottle”, there are chances that you are imagining only a specific type that you use regularly. It is only while shopping online or offline that we pay attention to the other varieties available. This post intends to bring all the popular bottles to light so that you can choose the best among them after weighing crucial parameters like safety, eco-friendliness, budget, and usage.

Types of water bottles (for other beverages too)

The below configuration is not comprehensive; there may be more to it depending upon the manufacturing process and other factors. However, these are the top and most common ones even from the viewpoint of a buyer.

Single-Use Plastic or SUP

These are the bottles that people purchase from local stores with pre-filled water in them. They are called SUP or single-use because they are meant for one-time use only; they cannot be used again when emptied once. However, these bottles are condemned lately globally because of their harmful plastic manufacturing proving to be utterly hazardous to the planet. Governments are trying to reduce their usage by introducing laws. Even the government of India has put a ban on SUPs with effect from July 01, 2022.

Reusable Plastic

After single-use plastic, comes those plastic bottles that are meant for reuse. These are lightweight, good for portability, and very cheap. However, the biggest downside of reusable plastic bottles is that they are also made of plastic which is a dreading material for the environment. Even if they are reusable, they get bad after using for a couple of times and people discard these after some time. Resultantly, they are dumped by everyone causing a great threat to the health of the planet Earth.

Glass

After seeing the horrifying impact of plastic bottles on the environment and bio-diversity, it was felt to bring a better alternative. Therefore, manufacturers introduced glass bottles known for purity making. It is indeed a better option when compared to plastic bottles as they are not harmful to the planet. However, they are unsuitable for daily usage as they are fragile to handle. Kids cannot use glass bottles as they may drop these and hurt themselves. These are prone to breakage; thus, not the best available option.

Aluminum

This material aluminum solved the problem of both plastic and glass where it is neither harmful to the environment nor prone to breakage. Being lightweight, one can use the for portability concerns. But then, the common problem observed in the aluminum bottles is that this material can leach into water or any other beverage. Thus, it may affect the smell, taste, and even the health of your drink adversely. For this reason, aluminum bottles are also not the idlest bottles in the market to purchase.
